T1 100 Flights

On a sunny March day in Savannah, Georgia, the first G500 flight test aircraft, T1, marked a milestone. The aircraft completed its 100th flight, less than a year after celebrating its first.

“Gulfstream is known for delivering on our promises and exceeding expectations,” said Dan Nale, senior vice president, Programs, Engineering and Test, Gulfstream. “The G500 flight test program is another way we are demonstrating that commitment. The 100th flight highlights the impressive capabilities of the all-new G500 as well as the thousands of hours spent in the labs that have allowed us to work out many issues before we even left the ground.”

The 100th flight focused on stability testing. The flight crew tested lateral-directional stability at slow speed, in anticipation of crosswind landing testing. They also performed tests required to develop the flight control software that is responsible for how the airplane feels to the pilot.
